Michael Eugene Barger
April 14th, 1947 - March 5th, 2018
Mike Barger, age 70, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 5, 2018. He was a professional tractor-trailer driver and an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time at Rally Mart talking to his many friends and flat footing at the Carter Fold. He was a member at Independent Church of God and Hiltons United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Willie Gray Barger; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Nancy Barger; He is survived by his wife, Pam Barger; son, Jeff (Trina) Barger; daughters, Kim Barger, Angie Milhorn and Amanda (Dorian) Belle; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, John (Bettie) Barger; sister, Mary Ann (Bob) Lane; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at Indian Path Medical Center for their care and support. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Scott County Funeral Home in Weber City, VA. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 pm with Pastor David Lane and Pastor Ben Spivey officiating. Eulogists will be Dennie Haynes and Larry Hefner. Music will be provided by his friends, Dale and Theresa Jett, Oscar Harris and Jerry Hensley. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Holston View Cemetery. All those wishing to go in procession are asked to meet at Scott County Funeral Home at 10:15 am. Pallbearers serving the family will be Tyler Barger, Daniel Barger, Dakota Smith, Mike Shaffer, Tim Shaffer, Dorian Belle, Bailey Glover and Larry Hefner. Honorary pallbearers serving the family will be Morris Gardner, Randall Barger, Jerry Larkey, Gary McMullins, David Smith, Lester Harper, Rob Lane, Chase Lane, Mark Wilson and many special friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hiltons United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice. Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home is proudly serving the Barger family.
