Matthew A Hall
July 21st, 1938 - February 14th, 2016
Matthew Anthony Hall was born July 21, 1938 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tacoma Washington to Albert and Anna Hall and died at home in Carbonado on February 14 , 2016. He attended St. Leo grade school, Bellarmine Prep and Stadium High School, graduating in 1956. Matt had a full, rich life embarking on several careers, starting with Foss Maritime in his twenties. His true calling came from the woods, logging in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska. Matt was honored at the Buckley Log Show in June of 2015, receiving the “Bull of the Woods” award for long time service to the timber industry. He was passionate about his hobbies. Racing motorcycles in his youth as a member of the Tacoma Blue Barons Race Club and later in life fishing and golfing with family and friends. He truly loved building race cars and was most proud of setting his personal land speed record of 180 mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Matt was loved by a very large blended family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Marie and sister Pat Madera and leaves behind sister Mary Ann Besel and his six children; Colleen Hall Barta, Cecilia, Tony, David, Albert Hall (wife Kathy) and Christy Hall. Also dear to him were his step children Debbie Sellers (Jeff), Luke and Brent Scott. Matt was blessed with many grandchildren, Madeline, Leah and Casey Barta, Matthew, Sean and Erin Hall, Adam, Braden and Jessica Hall and Marley Hall. Step grandchildren Jessie Sellers (Amber), Trevor, Colton and Sydnee Scott and great grandchildren Lane Thawsh and Tegan Sellers. A Celebration of Life will take place March 5, 2016 at 3 p.m. Saturday, at Wilkeson Eagles, 534 Church St. in Wilkeson. The Hall and Sellers families would like to thank Franciscan Hospice for the loving care they provided to both Donna and Matt in their final days.
