Marcia Jane Davis
December 14th, 1936 - January 8th, 2017
Marcia went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday January 8, 2017. She was born on December 14, 1936 in Oxford, Wisconsin and passed away at the age of 80 in Edgewood Washington. She grew up as the youngest of five children with four older brothers. Marcia’s father was a God-fearing, Bible-loving pastor of the faithful Presbyterian Church of its day. Her mother was an awesome, wonderful woman who truly loved God and Marcia. Marcia deeply enjoyed being the wife of Donald Wayne Davis for 57 years. He was a rare gem among gems. His loyal, exciting steady love was a gift from God that she greatly treasured. They took many trips together and daily reveled in each other’s presence. Primarily a homemaker for 22 years, Marcia later earned her bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University and became a Registered Nurse. She worked for many years at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View California and then, for the state of California as a Health Facilities Evaluator Nurse. She was published in nursing research and other magazines. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the national honor society of nursing. Marcia considered raising her five children as her proudest accomplishment. Each one brought her great joy. As John the Apostle said, “There is no greater joy than to see one’s children walk in the truth.” All are very successful in this life and have wonderful God-given mates: Titus (Debra), Dwight (Ann), Conrad (Denise) Paul (Nancy) and Alice (Mark). Marcia’s greatest joy was in loving God and sharing the truths of the Holy Scriptures with whoever would listen. Her trust was in the Resurrection from the dead by the work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. Jesus is her propitiation (His sufficient sacrifice to turn away God’s wrath). In her later years, reading the Scriptures was her daily joy, and watching God work in the lives of her 12 grandchildren was her constant prayer and pleasure.
