Gene Kelley
August 15th, 1928 - April 17th, 2017
Gene Kelley, 88, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Monday April 17, 2017. Mr. Kelley served our country in the US Navy during WWII. He then went on to work for the Mead Corporation for 42 years. During Gene's life he was a member of Ketron Memorial United Methodist Church, past President of North Kingsport Optimist, charter member of the West Carters Valley Ruritan, former member of the Kingsport Life Saving Crew and 50 year member of American Legion Hammond Post #3. Gene is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Mattie Lee Kelley; daughter Tedda Lynn Kelley; his parents; and 9 brothers and sisters. Gene is survived by his son Randy Kelley and wife Nancy; daughter Patty Crum and husband Mark; daughter Jenny Seguin and husband Tom; grandsons Matthew Crum and wife Elizabeth, Eric Seguin, Jackson Crum, Cory Seguin, Christopher Kelley; granddaughter Caroline Kelley; many nieces and nephews; and special friend Betty Watson. A receiving of friends will be held at Carter Trent Funeral Home Downtown Kingsport on Thursday April 20, 2017 from 5-7 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday April 21, 2017 at the Ketron Memorial United Methodist Church, 301 Virgil Ave, Kingsport, TN at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517 Topeka, KS, 66675. Carter Trent Funeral Home Downtown Kingsport is serving the Kelley Family.
