Annette Florence Gallaher Murphy September 9, 1934 – May 19, 2017 Annette F. Murphy, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 19, 2017, at St Francis Hospital in Federal Way, Washington, in the presence of family and friends. She was born Annette Florence Gallaher on September 9, 1934, to Clinton John and Florence Amanda (Bernard) Gallaher, in Seattle, Washington. She married Jack Murphy on July 25, 1953 in Seattle, Washington and together they embarked on their life’s work dedicated to family, Church, travel, the arts, and genealogy. Their marriage was solemnized in the LDS Los Angeles Temple, July 30, 1966 where they and their four children were sealed as a family. Jack and Annette lived in Seattle until they moved to Sumner, Washington in 1972. Annette was dedicated to her family but also found time to become an accomplished artist, like her mother before her, producing many paintings over her lifetime. She became a skilled genealogist and author producing several volumes of family histories. Annette was a gifted teacher of children within the LDS Church for many years. She cherished the memory of her students whom she loved and treated as family members. Annette will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 64 years, Jack Murphy, and children, Diana (Barry) Bosshart, Mary (Ken) Merrell, Stephen (Jeni) Murphy and Bill (Eva) Murphy; 24 grandchildren who knew her as their beloved Ma-Nette, 11 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She is also survived by her brother Clinton “Red” Gallaher; sister Joyce (Larry) Clasen and many well-beloved cousins. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 5, 2017 at 1 PM at the LDS Church, 512 Valley Avenue, Sumner, Washington, Bishop Earle Stuard conducting. Interment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery.
