Melvyn Adrian Harn

Melvyn Adrian Harn was born on September 17, 1944 in Lincoln, Nebraska, peacefully passed on Sunday August 27, 2017 at the age of 72 at his home in Lake Tapps, WA of natural causes. He proudly served his country in the Navy and served on the Nautilus Submarine during his 5 years of service. Melvyn retired from Bowen Scarff Ford and enjoyed his customers and his fellow employees. He enjoyed a great conversation and loved people! Melvyn was born to Melvin and Mildred Harn and was the oldest of 4. He is survived by his brothers Tim and Ben and his sister Barbara. He was married to Gail Lee Harn for 22 years and was remarried to Stephanie Ann Harn for 30 years. He was lucky in love and found two women who cherished him and were devoted to him through his life. He is survived by 7 of his 8 children. Steven Harn, Sherri Vankruyssen, Shelley Ellington, Suzanne Donnelly, Stacey Simpson, Seth Harn and Jason Withers. He was proceeded in death by his son Sean Melvyn Harn who he is now reunited with after 39 years. He was blessed with 14 grandchildren. Peet, Dani, Kaylee, Cassie, Maarten, Kara, Charlie, Abbie, Seanna, Cierra, Conner, Preston, Evan, & Addie. He enjoyed his grandchildren immensely and was affectionately known as the grandpa with strong hands. His playful antics and contagious smile are cherished memories for those who were lucky enough to know him. He was not a force to be reckoned with and was an intelligent, loving and hardworking man who was also a loyal friend. He was a man devoted to God, his family and his country and will be fondly remembered. Services will be held at United Methodist Church at 11:00am on 9/9/2017 followed by the reception at the Quality Inn & Suites at 3:00 in the Rainer Room.
