Mary Jo Spivey
April 30th, 1944 - February 20th, 2018
Mary Jo Spivey went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Mary enjoyed reading, working in her flowers, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Herbert Collins; mother, Katie Collins Drinnon; brother, Johnny Collins; sister, Wilma Jean Collins; grandchildren, Tucker Jones and Tiffany Jones. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Dewey Curtis Spivey; daughters, Tina Jones and husband, David, Donna Cox and husband, Dwain, Melissa Jones and husband, Chris, Wendy Fields and husband, Gregory; brothers, James Morris, Robert Drinnon and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Dustin Owens, Tyler Jones, Kelly Owens and husband, Casey, Heath Owens and wife, Haley, James Jones and wife, Christi, Cheyenne Mullins, Joshua Owens, Katie Jones, Kerri Jones, Chayna Mullins, Luke Mullins, Landon Fields; great-grandchildren, Karleigh Jones, Jayce Owens, Emma Owens, Isaiah Jones, Zoey Owens, Robbie Jones; her special niece, Carolyn Collette along with several additional nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport or friends may also call anytime at the residence of the daughter, Tina Jones. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jon Rogers and Rev. David White, officiating. A graveside service will follow the funeral at Oak Hill Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Drinnon, James Morris, and Robert (Bobby) Carter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Village at Allandale Activities Fund, 200 Strickland Court, Kingsport, TN 37660. Carter-Trent funeral home of downtown Kingsport is serving the Spivey family.
