Carroll Bishop

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7 KJV Carroll Bishop, age 74, of Gate City, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 20, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a native of Scott County, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floydie and Myrtle Bishop; brother, Bud Bishop; and sister, Shirley Deel. He is survived by sons, Michael Bishop of Clinchport, VA, and Randell Bishop (Tammy) also of Clinchport, VA; grandson, Justin Bishop (Amanda) of Gate City, VA; granddaughter, Andrea Bishop of Kingsport, TN; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Larry Bishop (Wanda) of Mt. Carmel, TN; sisters, Anita Long of Rogersville, TN; Judy Drier Waycaster of Cowans Branch, VA, Patricia Bishop of Cowans Branch, VA, Kathy Smith Young of Duffield, VA, and Karen Qualls (David) of Duffield, VA; several loving nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to especially thank the staffs of Wellmont Hospice and the 5th Floor ICU Step-Down Unit of Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital for their care and support for Carroll during his declining health. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Scott County Funeral Home in Weber City, VA. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 pm with Pastor Cecil Kern, Pastor Joe Hill and Evangelist Kenneth Neeley officiating.
