Keith Thomas Dobbs

Surgoinsville - Keith Thomas Dobbs, 59 of Surgoinsville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 9, 2016. He was born on November 30, 1956 in Rogersville to Mildred Kate Kersey and the late Ralph J. Dobbs. He was a 1974 graduate of Surgoinsville High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Keith was retired from Eastman Chemical Company after 29 years service. In his spare time he could be found farming or in the tobacco fields. He was a hardworking man, a loving husband and wonderful father who always made sure his family was taken care of. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Alan Dobbs; sister, Susan Dobbs Moore; maternal grandparents, Tom and Mary Kersey and paternal grandparents, Carl and Fannie Dobbs. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 37 years, Teresa S. Dobbs of Surgoinsville; his mother, Mildred Dobbs of Rogersville; daughter, Becky Halbrook and husband Jeff of Kingsport; son, Andy Dobbs of Surgoinsville; special grandson, Landon Halbrook whom he loved with all his heart; nieces, Shannon Nikki Dobbs and Ashley Moore; nephew, Isaac Moore; brother-in-law, Don Moore; several aunts and uncles. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. Friends may also call anytime at the residence. A celebration of Keith's life will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jimmy Manis officiating. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the Dobbs family.
