Mae Marcella Roberts
August 27th, 1927 - August 9th, 2014
After 86 years, our angel, Marcella Roberts was called to her heavenly reward. She passed peacefully at home on Saturday, August 9, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorman Roberts, and sisters Emily Bryan and Tiny Johnson. She is survived by daughters Dorma Muncie (Ted), Fran Slaughter (Gary), Linda Wood, Kathy Wilkins (Rob), and son Chris Roberts (Tonda). Grannie leaves behind seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Remaining siblings are sisters Valeria "Tullie" Roberts, LuAnn Collins, Nancy Becker, and brother David Johnson. Also remaining are numerous nieces and nephews. Mom will be remembered for her devotion to God and family, love of nature and sports, and her famous "sweet tea". Visitation will be at Griffith Cline, 720 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton, from 6 PM - 8 PM Wednesday, August 13, 2014. Services will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 14, 2014, at New Zion Baptist Church, 202 Sidney Roberts Road, Ona, FL. Memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International, PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214 or Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
