Linda Templeton Vaughn
August 30th, 1942 - May 9th, 2016
Linda Templeton Vaughn, age 73, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 9th, 2016 at Brookhaven Manor. Mrs. Vaughn was born and lived her whole life in Kingsport, TN. She graduated from Lynn View High School in 1960. She worked at Jewel Box, First American Bank, and Associates in the field of customer service. She was a member of Homeland Baptist Church for many years where she played the piano and organ. She loved people and filled the room with her contagious laughter. She loved music, shopping, and spending time with her grandkids. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and she will be greatly missed. Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Norman W Vaughn; her parents, Rev. Jack Templeton and Beatrice Phillips Templeton; and brothers, Bobby Templeton and Jerry Templeton. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Vaughn Hobgood and husband Chris from Atlanta, GA, son Charles Wesley Vaughn and wife Kumarie from Atlanta, GA, and son Norman Lee Vaughn and wife Tina from Kingsport, TN; grandchildren Jonathan Vaughn, Joshua Vaughn, Jordan Vaughn, Grayson Vaughn, Marlee Hobgood, Claire Vaughn, Riley Vaughn, Tess Vaughn, Jonny Vaughn, and soon to arrive baby Kaizer Vaughn; brother Larry Templeton and wife Rosie; along with several nieces and nephews. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Brookhaven Manor for years of loving care for our dear mother. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home Chapel, Kingsport. A service will be at 1:30 pm. Music will be provided by Damon Depew, Trish Weaver, Brian Casey, Lisa Casey and Christy Frager. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Kingsport with Gary Spears, Dwight Browder, Grayson Vaughn, John Vaughn, Josh Vaughn, and Grady Vaughn serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carl Childress and Ray Rose. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Vaughn family.
