Callie "Pauline" Fansler, 78, date of birth October 20, 1937, born in Scott County, VA, peacefully departed this life, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). We rejoice in the assurance of her salvation and the promise that she is walking with our Lord and Savior eternally. Pauline confessed her faith in Jesus Christ and was saved. She was a member of Catron's Chapel Church where she served in the past as a Sunday School teacher. Her faith in God and the example of Christ that she showed in her everyday life exemplified a Proverbs 31 woman. Pauline was a true role model to her family and those who knew her. Pauline graduated from Cleveland High School where she was on the basketball and softball team. Pauline spent her years being a loving and faithful wife to her husband, Orville for 59 years. She was the mother to five beautiful children, Rick, Randy, Avery, J.P., and finally after years of waiting for a girl, she gave birth to her daughter, Kristie. Pauline loved her children and grandchildren so much. Most of her time was spent surrounded with grandbabies. Pauline had several talents and hobbies. Quilting was her most cherished talent. She was one of the founding members of Kermit Craft Club. She made at least one beautiful quilt for each child and grandchild. These will be treasured forever! Pauline was a hard working mother and wife. When spring came, she began planning her garden. She loved to plant vegetables and care for them throughout the summer months. Her garden was always full and beautiful with delicious produce that God would provide. Pauline spent many mornings and evenings in her flower gardens. Each plant she touched bloomed into a magnificent showcase. Pauline loved to cook! Her meals were absolutely delicious! When the harvest from the garden would come, she would spend hours in the kitchen canning beans, soup, apples, and pear butter for the winter months. One of her favorite things to do in the fall was making apple butter with the family. She enjoyed God's artwork. She loved to look at the beautiful sunsets and take pictures of what God painted. It is assuring and exciting to know that she is with the Maker, as he shows His beauty during the evening sunsets.
