Lowell Bradley Noel

Lowell "L.B." Noel, age 72, of Church Hill, passed from this life to meet our Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 13, 2016, while traveling to St. Augustine FL, for a fun filled vacation with his wife, sisters and brother. He spent many years as a truck driver and enjoyed traveling with his family. Poeticly enough they had stopped for a rest at a Flying J when Lowell went into cardiac arrest. With his family around him and his brother, Harry, holding him close, he fell asleep. Lowell proudly served his country as a Veteran of the US Army. He took the utmost pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was their biggest fan in life. Whether it was at a sporting event or by their side during a sickness, he was always there cheering them on. He will never know the impact he has made in all of his children and grandchildren's lives. Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Dora Noel; 2 brothers, Patrick Noel and W.S. Noel; and 2 nephews, Lester Bishop and Larry Noel. Lowell is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Shirley Noel; 2 daughters, Tammie Bartlett (Keith) and Tonya Strickland; son, Landon Noel (Jennifer); grandchildren, Hannah Hammonds (Josh), Brooke Burchfield (Joe), Brent Kilgore (Emily) and Evan Noel; great-grandchildren, Seth Hicks, Baylee Hammonds, Isaiah Kilgore, Madeline Kilgore and Samuel Kilgore; sisters, Geraldine Bishop, Shirley Dunn, Priscilla Wade (Pete) and Connie Melton (Darrell); brother, Harry Noel (Gayle); several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. Funeral services will begin at 6:00 pm with Bro. Ed Barnett and grandson, Brent Kilgore officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Flag Pond Church Cemetery in Blackwater, VA.
