William James Lane
August 19th, 1929 - October 18th, 2010
William James Lane 8/19/1929-10/18/2010 Born in Charitan, IA, his family moved to Yakima, WA where he graduated in 1948 and married Jonnie Faye Pack, the love of his life, on November 25, 1950. He enlisted in the National Guard and was activated by the Army to serve in Korea. He joined the Puyallup Police Department in 1960, attended the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA in 1975 and retired after 22 years of service. Papa loved his family and enjoyed sailing, fishing, music, dancing, and traveling among other activities. He is survived by his loving wife Jonnie, daughters Teresa (Mike Curtis), Mary (Al Miotke), Kathy (Troy Morgan) and Jennifer Burkhart; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; plus a large extended family. Dad was always "Brave and Firm" and his "Firm plans were always flexible." Services will not be held. An informal potluck gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. Donations are appreciated and can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Friends of the Family Assisted Living Home in Puyallup.
