William F Olson
June 21st, 1938 - February 10th, 2017
William (Bill) Olson died unexpectedly on February 10, 2017, at his home in Parrish, Florida at the age of 78. William Frederick Olson was born June 21, 1938 in Grafton, ND to his parents Alice and Clifford Olson. He graduated in 1957 from Cavalier High School, ND. Mr. Olson is survived by his wife Raquel D. Pinheiro Olson; his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Dalcir Olson of Gaithersburg, Maryland; his daughter Deborah Drifka of Katy, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Jeff Dahlman of Belleair Beach, Florida; his daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Todd Williams of Springfield, Illinois; daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Dott Smith of Fulshear, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Drifka, Christina Drifka, Olivia Dahlman, Claudia Dahlman, Kyle Williams, Matthew Williams, and Edward Smith; great-grandson Axel Kelley; his sister Nina Weissman of Seattle, Washington and brother John Olson of Bismarck, North Dakota; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Olson is preceded in death by his mother Alice Schwandt Olson, his father Clifford I. Olson, and his stepmother Gladys Olson. Mr. Olson was a Construction Cost Analyst for Housing and Urban Development for offices across the country. He also served as a Community Planning and Development Representative in the office of Indian Programs at HUD’s San Francisco Regional Office monitored the Community Development of Block Grant Program for Indian tribes. He retired in 1999. The Olson children remember their Dad as a very loving and caring father with a great sense of humor. He loved to make people laugh and always had a happy twinkle in his eye. Mr. Olson was a member of the Palmetto Seventh-day Adventist Church in Palmetto, Florida. A memorial service will be held at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home in Bradenton, Florida at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Services will be officiated by Mr. Olson’s Pastor, Pastor Joe Nesbit.
