Chammie "Cham" Howard Percer, Jr., 73 of Kingsport went to be with Our Father, following a short illness on Thursday, July 23, 2015. Cham was born in Memphis, TN on May 22, 1942 to Cham Percer, Sr. and Helen Hodges Percer. He graduated from Memphis State University in 1967. Cham moved to Elizabethton in 1972 with Ernst and Ernst and later moved to Kingsport in 1974 where he became the first president of the Bank of Tennessee. He later opened his own Business, Cham Percer, CPA where he remained active until his death. Cham took pride in being a member of the Kingsport Rotary Club, where he was a former president; the International Fellowship of Flying Rotarians, American Region, holding his private pilot license through the AOPA; the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce, where he was a former president. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Kingsport. Cham enjoyed traveling, cooking, flying and spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid golfer and through that made many lifelong friendships. He enjoyed his "Breakfast Crew" at JanMar until they closed and then began meeting at "Two Dads". He also truly enjoyed his Tuesday night "Murphy's Crew". Cham will be remembered for his loyalty, quick wit, spirit of adventure, and the tenaciousness that allowed him to achieve top rankings in many diverse endeavors. He was blessed with many friends and was a friend to many. Survivors include his loving wife, Traci Hensley Percer; children, Chammie Percer & wife Becky, Louise "Weesie" Percer, Chase Percer & wife Brenda, and Cort Percer & wife Emily, all of Memphis; Amanda Haga & husband Jason of Piney Flats, TN; grandchildren, Avi Percer, Parker and Sydney Haga; sisters, Judy Wilson & husband Richard of Collierville, TN and Nancy Brimson & husband Bill of Memphis, TN; Inlaws, Raymond "Windy" Heck and Kathleen Smith Heck, Jerry Smith, Sam, Kim and Tanner Smith , Samantha and Nick Moore. A gathering of friends will take place from 3 to 6 pm on Sunday (July 26, 2015) at First Broad Street UMC, 100 E. Church Circle, Kingsport. An Episcopal service will follow in the church with Fr. Steven White, officiating. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Marco Da Silva and Dr. John Beatty. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport, is serving family of Cham Percer.
