Hazel Francis-Sethe, age 88 passed away peacefully in Puyallup, WA on February 6th, 2020. Hazel was the second youngest of seven siblings and was born in Towner, North Dakota on September 27th, 1931. She moved to Washington State with her family as a teenager and attended Cleveland High School. On February 26, 1955, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho she married the love of her life, Raymond Francis. Together they settled down in the Georgetown area of Seattle where they started their family and what would be her lifelong mission to raising their five children. They also spent time residing and planting roots in White Center, Maple Valley, and Puyallup, WA. Hazel enjoyed sewing and making clothes, baking wedding and birthday cakes, painting, crafting, visiting with friends and caring for others. Hazel was always willing to help anyone and enjoyed hosting friends and family in her home. You could always count on a newspaper clipping, a coupon, or a story waiting on her counter for your next visit. She was a prayer warrior and made a habit out of showing concern for everyone she knew! Hazel was a proud member of the Hobart Community Church for over ten years as well as the South Hill Christian Church where she attended for more than thirty years. She taught Sunday school, was involved with the women’s ministry, helped with childcare and participated in many Bible Studies. Her love of the Lord was always in the forefront of her mind and she shared her Joy with whomever would listen. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Ray Francis in 1996, 2nd husband Donald Sethe in 2013, Grandson Rob Francis, and Grandson Steven Francis. Hazel is survived by her son Terry (Kathy), son Todd (Linda), daughter Tammie (Mike), daughter Tanya (Tim), son Tyler (Marlus), 15 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at South Hill Christian Church on Saturday, February 29th at 2:00pm. In Lieu of Flowers, a donation can be made to her favorite charity, World Vision.
