Calvin Lee Wilkinson 1936 - 2020 “I can think of no greater pleasure than to fly in the high blue yonder And gazing down on the earth below with all it’s beauty and wonder” Calvin Lee Wilkinson April 21, 1948 Cal took flight on July 28 ,2020. He was born to Merlin and Edith Wilkinson on December 30, 1936 in Wichita, Kansas. He is survived by his wife of 24 yrs, Lori Wilkinson, brother Duane (Sylvia) Wilkinson, sisters Joanne (Dan) Cironi and Maurine (Tom) Johnson, sons David, Greg (Liz) and Eric Wilkinson and grandchildren Jacob and Janie Wilkinson. He is preceded in death by his parents Merlin and Edith Wilkinson and son Steve Wilkinson. Cal had an amazing career at Boeing contributing to the Saturn and Apollo space programs as well as the Space Shuttle and the Hubble Space Telescope. He has patents for the Lunar Rover and Air Launched Cruise Missile programs. He was an avid handball player and jogger. He loved hiking, flying and served as a search and rescue pilot in the Civil Air Patrol. Cal was a great husband, friend, neighbor and dad. Someone you would want to meet in a time of need. He was always there for everyone he knew. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In the meantime we encourage you to post your memories.
