Frank Lynn Ellinwood
February 9th, 1934 - May 25th, 2018
Frank Lynn Ellinwood, 84, a Christian and loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Granddaddy, made his journey to be with the Lord on May 25, 2018, peacefully at home. Frank was a 54-year resident of Bradenton, born in Saint Petersburg. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty years, Doris Porter Ellinwood; his parents, Frederick G. and Wanda Ellinwood; brothers, Fred, Eugene, and Robert; sisters, Luella Hood, Marian Lawson, Violet Carpenter, and Lois Connell. Frank is survived by two sisters, Marlynn Crutchfield and Frances Ellinwood; three daughters, Pamela Spry (Freddy), Deborah Demers (Rodney), and Theresa Dahlquist (Douglas); and twenty-six Grandchildren, Darrin Spry (Joshua, Jessica, Devin, Cameron), Shannon Spry (Chase, Hayden, Ozias), Kerry Spry (Aliyah, Jaden), Jeremy Demers (Julian, Gavin), Jordan Demers, Danielle Sheffield (Alexander, Savannah, Lydia), Hannah Boyd (Madeline, Elizabeth, Baby Boy in utero), David Dahlquist, and Sarah Demers. Frank was loved by many and known by his smile and compassionate demeaner. He was enlisted in the U.S. Army for six years and represented the Army as a pole vaulter in the Army/Navy Games. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Manatee County Sherriff’s Mounted Posse, Manatee County Fast Pitch Softball Association, and Southeast High School Band Boosters. Frank enjoyed talking about the Lord and discussing His Word, fishing, swimming, a good cup of coffee, gardening, music (singing, piano and guitar), pool, ping pong, golf, making his famous “Grandpa’s chili”, a good game of cards, old movies, a good “western”, his dune buggy, taking meticulous care of his dogs and farm animals (horses, cows, and pigs), and visiting with his neighbors and buddies at Popi’s Restaurant, Turner’s Donuts, and the Shake Pit. Frank delivered milk for Hood’s Dairy in the morning before going to Saint Pete High School/Saint Pete Junior College, and learned the plastering trade from his father and brothers to become a Plastering & Stucco Restoration Contractor. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Colonial Baptist Church, 2616 51st Street West, Bradenton, Florida 34209.
