John Justic Loggans, 77 of Kingsport went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 30, 2015 at his home. John was born in Fall Branch, TN. He served in the United States Navy and retired from Eastman Chemical Company with over 40 years of service. John was a member of Glen Alpine Methodist Church. John loved the outdoors, driving in the mountains, looking at flowers in the springtime, reading, studying his Bible, and he had a love for animals. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virgie Elizabeth Blakely Loggans; father, Benjamin Franklin Loggans; brothers, Jessee, Willie, Jerry, and Henry Loggans; sisters, Louise Behen, Hope Baines, and Della Mae Loggans; mother of his children, Jewel Vaughn Loggans. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Hale Wright Mullins Loggans; son, Geoff Loggans; daughter, Kym Loggans; step-sons, Greg Wright, Brian Wright, Jason Mullins and wife Jessica; grandson, Michael Christian; granddaughters, Angel Loggans and life partner Billy Griffith, Ame Bly and husband Tevin; great granddaughters, Rose Helainah Bly, Aurora Destiny Loggans, due June 2015; sister, Lavada McDaniel; brother, Robert Loggans and Albert Loggans. The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. A service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor James Adams and Pastor Daniel Philips officiating. Music will be provided by The Messengers. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post 3/265 at 10 am on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in the ShareLife room. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Mullins, Brian Wright, Greg Wright, Brett Hughes, Michael Grissom and Todd Page. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in loving honor of Barbara Hale Moore, Tennessee Chapter-Knoxville Office, 12 Oaks Executive Park, 5401 Kingston Pike, Suite 230, Knoxville, TN 37919 or online at [email protected].
