Erma Lee Ward

Erma Lee Waye Ward, 74, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday morning (September 22, 2014). She spent 30 years of her life in Nashville. Following retirement, she moved back home to Kingsport. Erma Lee was a graduate of Lynn View High School in 1958. She went onto graduate from East Tennessee State University with a BS degree in nursing. Mrs. Ward worked as an RN with Holston Valley Hospital and at Indian Path Hospital. She retired from Summit Medical Center as night supervisor. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially spoiling her granddaughter and "Molly". She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Nellie Waye; grandparents, Annie and Donnie Bennett; a brother, Bill Waye. Erma Lee Ward is survived by her son, Jeffrey Ward and wife, Teresa; a daughter, Jennifer Warren and husband, John; her granddaughter, Eliana Ward; brothers, Bobby Waye and wife, Ann; Roy Waye and wife, Shirley; sister-in-law, Faye Waye Gryder and husband, Robert; a special niece, April Fletcher along with several additional nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday (September 25, 2014) at 6 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport. A private burial will take place at Oak Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284-0692. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Ward family.
