Nelson Jones

Nelson Jones, 18, of Sumner, WA, passed away on Sunday July 23. 2023 of injuries from a car accident. Nelson was born on January 6, 2005 to Molly Jones (Tommy L Jones Jr.) in Scottsdale, Arizona. After graduating from Sumner High School this year, Nelson started a career with the Boeing company with plans to transfer to Arizona after a year and start an A&P program while continuing to work. Nelson is preceded in death by his father Tommy L Jones Jr and grandfathers, Warren L Wirkman and Tommy L Jones Sr. He is survived by his Mother Molly Jones of Sumner, WA, Grandmother Karyn Wirkman of Ellensburg, WA, Grandmother Pamela Jones of Mesa, Arizona, Grandfather John Lawson (Tina Lawson) of Auburn, WA, Aunts Jenny Campanano (Aaron) of Maple Valley, Rhonda Wirkman (Doug Cox Jr) of Ocean Shores, WA, Uncles Joshua Jones of Mesa, AZ and Dustin Jones of Mesa, AZ, and cousins. Nelson had recently started fishing with his best friend Tyler and he really enjoyed it. Family was everything to Nelson and he recently spent his “senior trip” on an Alaska cruise with his Mom, Grammie, Aunt Jenny and Great Aunts Connie and Sue “All his ladies” as he said. Everyone will surely remember Nelson’s funny sense of humor and always trying to make others laugh. Celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11:00 am at Calvary Community Church in Sumner, WA
