Daniel Joseph Jerome

Daniel Joseph Jerome was born on October 10th, 1958 in Dover, New Hampshire to parents John and Alice Jerome. He was the last of six kids, who was lovingly called “Danny,” and the “baby” of the family. He joined brothers David & Michael, and sisters Janet, Valerie & Laurie. Although born in New Hampshire, Dan spent his childhood and the beginning of his young adult life in Hanover, Massachusetts. Growing up Dan was active and enjoyed spending time outside. As a family, Dan and his siblings would travel to West Virginia to their grandparents farm, where they enjoyed running in the fields alongside a multitude of cousins. This is also where Dan may have first discovered his love for chickens, which would end up being one of his lifelong hobbies. Dan attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and graduated with a degree in Agriculture. From the start he has always had a connection to nature and animals. He would go on to spend a summer between classes in the Forest Service fighting fires in Utah and Idaho - which of course made his family nervous! Eventually Dan made his way to the West Coast after graduating college and landed in Washington State. While attending Bible College in Des Moines, he would soon-to-be-wife, Cynthia. After nine-months of dating and a nine-month engagement, they were married on June 3rd, 1989. As Cynthia would attest to – their meeting was a God story! After getting married, Dan began work for the Boeing company in the Summer of 1989. At the start of their marriage, He and Cynthia lived in Burien and Des Moines until they moved to Puyallup in 1993. There they bought their first home, welcomed their first baby girl – Natalie Rose in March of 1993… and four years later, Emma Rose arrived in June of 1997. There were many things Dan loved in this life – from his 1978 Ford F-150 to his flock of white Wyandotte bantam chickens & call ducks, his thriving vegetable & flower gardens, and of course the Boston Red Sox - but none more than his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, his beautiful wife Cynthia and his two girls, Natalie & Emma. He was a man of God and a man who lived for his "three roses," which inspired the name "Three Roses Farm," for his humble patch of land in Puyallup. Dan lived a life of integrity. He valued people and always made sure they knew they were seen and loved. He was a jokester, and enjoyed making people laugh. It came naturally to him to share the best of himself with those he was surrounded by. He was faithful, joyful, kind, witty, and wise. It would have taken Dan three lifetimes to do all he wanted to do in his life! We know he is doing all of these things in heaven now. Until we join him there – we will do our best to honor his life and live joyfully here on earth! We will LOVE you ALWAYS!
