Gary Wilhelm Nelson
July 19th, 1958 - August 25th, 2022
It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Gary Wilhelm Nelson, our loving husband, father, grandfather and brother left us on Thursday August 25 th, 2022. He was born on July 19th, 1958 to loving parents Eric and Renate. Gary is survived by his wife, Jan, his brother and spouse Ric and Gina, sister Linda, son David and sons and spouses Rusty and Heidi, Jeff and Rachel, Jacob and Edna and several grandchildren. Gary was an alumnusfrom the University of Georgia, and he loved his Bulldog football. Being raised in the 60’s and 70’s, Gary was an avid fan of classic rock and all things music. He could win any trivia contest on these topics. Gary was a licensed landscape architect who had more than 35 years of experience in the residential development industry. He worked his way up the ranks to the executive level and was the brain trust behind several large master planned communities which included Waterlefe Golf and River Club, Sun City Center, Venetian Golf and River Club, Westshore Marina and Yacht Club. His specialties included master planning, entitlements, permitting and site development. He was regarded within the industry as not only an extremely talented individual but also as a man whose morals and character were clearly evident. Above all of these lifelong milestones, Gary’s greatest accomplishment was his family. He was a dedicated husband and father who loved his family more than anything. We invite you to join us in a celebration of Gary’s life on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 1 pm at the First Presbyterian Church at 1402 Manatee Ave. West, Bradenton Fl 34205.
