Bucklin Everett Godwin, lovingly known as Bucky, went to his heavenly home on November 3, 2022, in Bradenton, FL at the age of 51. He was born on August 3, 1971, in Bradenton, FL weighing 10 lbs. 6 oz to Ira Lee (Buck) Godwin Jr. and Velma Lee DeSear Godwin. Bucky, a life-long resident of Manatee County, grew up playing soccer and enjoying hog hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He was a mason by trade and was known for his legendary cast net throw and delicious smoked mullet. Bucky was a light, sharing God’s love in all situations through long, true-to-his-heart Facebook Live sermons and scriptures, which he had memorized and had ready to share with all no matter his struggles. He was dedicated throughout his life to be the hands and feet of Jesus. He had a huge heart, loving everyone, and loving most of all the time he got to spend with his family, especially his children. He is preceded in death by his sons, Dakoda Schopfer and Holdyn Kash Godwin; sister, Rene Jones; brother, Will Godwin; brother-in-law Mike Jones; and grandparents, Ira lee Sr. and Willie Bell Godwin and William Everett and Mildred DeSear. Survived by his soulmate, Tina Horne and her son, Blane; children, Justin Kirschbaum, Halie Jo Godwin, Makenzie Godwin, Parker Lawson, and Cason Godwin; parents, Buck and Velma Godwin; siblings, Susanne Teuton (Rodney), Norina South (Mark), and Matt Godwin (Kim); nephews and nieces: Levi Teuton (Erika), Dallas Jones (Jana), Michael Jones, Spencer Teuton (Lindsay), William Jones (Katrina), Jake Willis (Rachel); Kaylee South (Luis), Willie Godwin (Halley), David Godwin (Peyton), April Roane (Will), Josh Godwin, Karly Godwin, Zach Godwin; great nieces and nephews, Jaylin, Arianna, Austin, Lily, Natalie, Emma, and Bella (Jones), Spencer, Jace, Kya, and Ella Dean (Teuton), Elijah, Ryker, Ali, Presley, and Aubrey (Godwin); many aunts, uncles, and cousins dear to his heart; many life-long friends; and special thanks to Andy Reed. Memorial donations may be made to the Myakka Family Worship Center or to Bucky’s Memorial Fund.
