Nancy Christine Durrance
March 16th, 1937 - January 21st, 2023
Nancy Christine Yawn Durrance, age 85, of Bradenton Florida, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Tidewell Hospice of Lakewood Ranch. Christine was born in Folkston, Georgia and was one of six children born to Charlie and Pauline (Wilson) Yawn. She moved to Bradenton with her family and attended Bradenton High School. She married Donald Alison Durrance on January 15, 1954 and the couple raised three children. She was a member of Dry Prairie Baptist of Duette, Elwood Baptist Church, and had a strong faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. She worked at Manatee Memorial Hospital as a Nurses Aide for over 20 years, primarily in Labor and Delivery. She was an amazing southern cook. Her specialties were fried chicken, fried fish and shrimp, the most amazing gravy, and biscuits made from scratch. She also sewed, and loved crafts. She loved taking good care of her children and her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, her husband Donald Durrance, her grandson Daniel Perger, her sister Faye Manning, her three brothers, Charles, Ernest, and Paul Yawn, preceded her in death. Christine is survived by two daughters, Joyce Perger (Dennis) of Monroe, WI; Sharon McQuillen (Scott) of Bradenton; Donald Durrance Jr (Debbie) of Bradenton; seven grandchildren, Julie McGregor (Trevor) of Las Vegas, NV; Christopher Perge; Andrew Perger (Rebecca) of Plattesville WI; Bryan McQuillen, Blair McQuillen, and Colton McQuillen of Bradenton; Meghan Cotter of Clearwater FL; four great-grandchildren; Emily McGregor, Levi Perger, Jude Perger, Jayce Levy, Madison Levy, andWyatt Levy; one brother Gene Yawn (Marie) of Tampa;and her brother-in-law O.D. Manning of Brunswick, GA. The funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday Jaunuary 25 in the Chapel of Griffith Cline Funeral Home with Reverend Tom Winter officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Her sons, son-in-laws, and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
