Margaret Jane Greer

Margaret Jane Greer, age 76 of Blountville went to be with the Lord Sunday morning, February 9, 2014 at Holston Valley Medical Center after a long illness. She was a member of Living Waters Covenant Church and was retired from Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport. Mrs. Greer was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, L. B. Greer; great-granddaughter, Leigh Anna Yarber; parents, Emmitt and Ruby Jones Hammonds; sisters, Barbara Hammonds and Mary Lou Graham; brothers, Ronnie Hammonds and Thomas Hammonds. Survivors include daughter; Sharon Vaughn and husband, Randy, of Blountville; sons, Michael Greer of Kingsport, Tony Greer and wife Libby of Kingsport, Rev. Greg Greer and wife Connie of Blountville, Jeff Greer and wife Angel of Bristol; grandchildren, Eric Vaughn and wife Hillary, Amanda Yarber and husband Brandon, Christy Cox and husband Travis, Alex Greer, Justin Greer, Jesse Greer, Avery Greer, Joshua Lawson, Lorissa Lawson; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Elijah and Lydia Vaughn, Brandon Yarber, Cayden and Mallory Cox; sisters, Betty Gillis, Linda Rutter; brothers, Wayne Larkins, James Larkins, Kenneth Larkins, Sherrill Larkins and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga St, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm with Rev. Greg Greer and Rev. Layton Bentley officiating. Music will be provided by Corey Snowden and Eric Vaughn. A committal service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Jeff Greer, Wayne Overbay, Brandon Yarber, Eric Vaughn, Joshua Lawson, Greg Overbay serving as pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at 1 pm Thursday at the funeral home to go in procession. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Living Waters Covenant Church, 3106 Island Road, Blountville, TN 37617.
