Carolyn Russell Muncie

Carolyn Russell Muncie Kingsport - Carolyn Russell Muncie, 65, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord early Friday morning, December 6, 2013 at Indian Path Medical Center after a long illness. Carolyn was born and raised in Blackwater, VA she had been a resident of Kingsport most of her life. Carolyn was preceded in death by two sons, Jason Muncie and Jarrod Muncie; parents Donald and Arneda Russell; one sister, Gail Halsey and two brothers, Thomas Russell and Alvin Russell. Surviving are her daughter, Hope Pryor and husband, Darrell of Winchester, KY; three grandchildren, Jason Dolen, Samantha Dolen and Joseph Dolen; five sisters Vera Parker of Kodak, TN, Shirley Hall and husband, Alan, Juanita Wells, Phyllis Trent and Wanda Sutton all of Kingsport; two brothers, Vernon Russell and Randall Russell both of Kingsport;; several nieces and nephews and three dear friends, Cathy Miller, Debbie Davenport and Janie Warren. The family will receive friends from 1 - 3 pm Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Cater-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga St., Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 3pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Johnny Gibson officiating. Music will be provided by Louise Gibson and Lucy Lorman. A graveside service will be conducted at 11am Monday at the Flowers Gap Cemetery, Blackwater, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 am.
