John Lewis Anderson

Church Hill - John Lewis Anderson, 74 of Church Hill, went to be with the Lord on December 4, 2013 at Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Surgoinsville, John had lived in Hawkins County all of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Holliston Mills. He attended First Baptist Church in Church Hill. John loved fishing, and was a loving husband, father, papaw, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clint and Jane Collins Anderson. John is survived by his wife of 56 years, Deina Wells Anderson of the home; daughters, Debbie Botelho and husband Joe of Jonesborough, Darline Webb of Church Hill and Dru Lawson and husband Rick of Mt Carmel; son, Johnny Anderson and wife Robin of Kingsport; 9 grandchildren, Nathan and wife Amanda, Kari and husband Kevin, Peyton, Madison, Leslie and husband Daniel, Caleb, John Carl, Jacob and Mason; 3 great-grandchildren, Ava, Emily and Sadie; sisters, Mable Leeper, Ruth Kenner, Nell Owens, Reva Owens; brother, Andy Anderson; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. Friends may also call anytime at the residence. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Gary Gerhardt officiating. A military graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday at Church Hill Memory Gardens with the Hawkins County Color Guard and the TN National Guard conducting the rites. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:55 a.m. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the Anderson family.
