All-States Cremation - Wheat Ridge
Charles Frary
April 30th, 1948 - February 22nd, 2018
Known as Chuck to his family and friends. Chuck’s parents were William and Alice Frary. He was the 2nd oldest child of 5 and the only boy. He has 4 sisters. Maurine, Carolyn, Mary, and Lynette. Chuck spent his younger years right here in this very neighborhood and went to Holy Family school. He graduated in 1966. In High School, you would find him rocking out with his guys from the band, and cruising around in his ’57 Chevy Bell Air convertible. He started dating the girl across the street, who would later become his wife Vickie. His first job was walking dogs at the Mile High Dog Track. He would work at the dog track every summer for 20+ years, and eventually moved into the ticket sales booth and working the money room. He also worked a couple summers at Centennial Horse Track as well. Chuck lived in Greeley for 4 years while he was in college and then went on to teaching. He taught Earth Science to Junior High students, but after 2 years of teaching, he found that it was not his calling. He then started working for his father in law as a welder and did that for about 15 years. In 1969, Chuck and Vickie got married and had their first child. Four years later, they bought a house in Arvada and had 3 more children. Their children, Susan, Kevin, Jeff, and Brian all grew up and went to school in the Arvada area. In 1987, Chuck and Vickie divorced and Chuck then moved back to his old stomping ground in North Denver where he would spend the rest of his life. Chuck very much loved the outdoors and was very adventurous. He loved to hunt and would take his 3 boys deer and elk hunting every year. He also enjoyed river rafting and water skiing and had his own boats to do so. He enjoyed camping and shooting guns. He was fascinated by classic cars and enjoyed working on his own cars. Another passion of his was music. He taught himself how to play the guitar and the piano. His favorite song to play on the piano was the Pipeline. He was a very intelligent man and would teach himself how to do just about anything he was interested in. Chuck was very active and would ride his bike all over town. If he has to travel far, he would take his bike and jump on the bus to get around. He played a lot of basketball and football in his younger years and was always a Broncos and Nuggets fan. His faith in God was unbreakable. He lived a life knowing that God would always protect him. He’s even been known to say: “I’m going to sit back and let God take over.” Knowing he is living pain and stress-free is how we will be able to be at peace. Because he is. Chuck’s children would like it to be known that no matter the success and trials, the good and the bad, he left them with a legacy to always remember. Whether that’s a lesson learned or a skill to live by, he will always be loved and forever be missed.
