A.V. "Pete" Cole

A.V. "Pete" Cole, Jr. of Kingsport passed away on August 23, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport. He was a native of Kingsport. He retired in 1986 from Eastman Kodak after 40 years of service. He was an avid fox hunter for 50 years and served as a judge at multiple National Field Trials. He attended Bethel Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aner Victor Cole, Sr., Gertrude Turner Cole and brother, John B. Cole. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Rowena C. Cole of the home; two daughters, Carolyn Cole-Kokas of Marietta, GA and Beth Cole Scalf & husband Ron of Crane Hill, AL; two grandchildren, Tanner Scalf & wife Keitha and Garrett Scalf; one great granddaughter, Aspen Scalf along with several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kay Florence officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 pm on Tuesday in East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport. The family would like to thank the staff of Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center particularly those in the Emergency Room and Wilcox Hall. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport, is serving the Cole family.
