Joseph Dwitt Wood

Joseph Dwitt Wood, 39 of Rogersville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at his residence, unexpectedly. Born in Kingsport, Joseph had been a resident of Hawkins County for most of his life. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clint and Sarah Alice (Armstrong) Barrett; paternal grandmother, Helen (Housewright) Wood. Joseph is survived by his daughters, Deborah Ann Wood of Church Hill, Samatha Jo Wood, Cheyenne Danielle Wood, Alison Maxine Wood and Marquita Rose Wood all of Surgoinsville; parents, Verlion and Alice (Barrett) Wood of Church Hill; paternal grandfather, Charlie D. Wood of Church Hill; sister, Misty Wood of Church Hill; nieces, Tiffany Erica Manis and Heather Mystique Manis. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 1115 Hwy 11W, Church Hill, TN. Friends may also call anytime at the residence of his parents. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jerry Dykes officiating. Music will be provided by The Two Disciples. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Pallbearers will be will be Mark Estes, Kimbert Jones, Keith Arnold, David Dishner, Jr., Michael Manis and Dennis Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Estes, Stone Davis and Parker Estes. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the Wood family.
