Frankfort – Claris Virginia Gipson Barnes, 82, widow of William H. Barnes, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022. She was born in Carter County on April 8, 1939 to the late James Roy and Ettie Lena Musser Gipson. She worked for the State of Kentucky in the Printing Department. She is survived by her son, James Barnes, Frankfort; her sisters, Wilma (Don) Puckett, Munfordville and Alice Feeback, Frankfort; her brothers, Jerry Gipson, Frankfort, Leroy (Cindy) Gipson, Glendale, Wayne Gipson, Bagdad, and Glenn (Paula) Gipson, Maine; her grandchildren, James T. Barnes, Frankfort, Jillian Barnes (Brish) Perkins, Lewis (Elizabeth) Barnes; and her great grandchildren, Willow Hutton and Ivory Perkins. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, William H. Barnes Jr. and Robert G. Barnes; as well as her brother, Clyde (Norma) Gipson. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd with Rev. Tim Jumpp officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd.
