Marshall S. "Pete" Lippert
January 3rd, 1927 - October 7th, 2022
Marshall S. “Pete” Lippert, 95, husband of Patricia O’Banion Lippert, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022. He was born in Midway, Kentucky on January 3, 1927 to the late Augustus and Ora Webster Lippert. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Pete bred and raced thoroughbreds; he was very proud of Pete’s Hick Chick who was 1st place winner in three Stakes Races in West Virginia. Throughout his career, he was a farmer, real estate broker, and managed farms for Gro-Green Chemical Company. He was also a founding parent of Duckers Lake Golf Course. Pete enjoyed playing softball. Once he retired, he enjoyed golfing, gardening, planting and tending to his flowers. He was very proud of his family. In addition to his wife of 21 years, he is survived by his daughter, Betsy (William) Dunnigan, Frankfort, his son, Daryl (Debra) Lippert, Midway; his step-son, Brennan (Kimberly Sanders) O’Banion, Owenton; his sisters, Louise Anderson, TX, and Patsy Anderson, CA; his grandchildren, Stacey (Robert) Banks, Kimberly (Mike) Bryan, Erik (Megan) Dunnigan, and Tiffany (Brandon) Kelley; his step-grandchildren, Skylar Johnson and Emma Johnson; and his great grandchildren, Brennan Lippert, Chase (Victoria) Forester, Ty Bryan, Taylor Bryan, Levi Dunnigan, and Laine Dunnigan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Gravitt Lippert, his sister, Iva Shy; and his brother, Augustus Lippert Jr. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, October 10, 2022 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd with one of his friends Ronald Ring and Bro. Tom Troth officiating. Burial will follow at Frankfort Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers will be Erik Dunnigan, Brennan Lippert, Robert Banks, Mike Bryan, Chase Forester, and Ty Bryan. Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Robert Dawson, Thomas Keesling, and Moffett Wells. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the time of service on Monday, October 10, 2022 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
