All-States Cremation - Wheat Ridge
Guy Garcia
March 23rd, 1977 - December 17th, 2013
GUY ERIK DOERTENBACH GARCIA, 36 OF DENVER Guy’s work passions were marketing and sales. He was most recently employed by Innovation Factories. He was also previously employed by Page One Marketing, TransUnion & Dex. Guy was born March 23, 1977 in Pueblo, CO to Leroy & Joy (Doertenbach) Garcia. He lived in Pueblo until 1982 when he & his mother moved to Denver. In Denver, he attended Gust Elementary, Henry Middle and Mullen High Schools. He received his Bachelors’ degree in Business from Colorado State University in 1999. Guy attended St. Paul United Methodist Church in Pueblo. In Denver, he was confirmed in the Christian faith and became a member of Brentwood United Methodist Church. He was active in the United Methodist Youth Fellowship (known as “Youth Group”) where he formed several life-long friendships. When he was growing up, everyone always said he inherited his outgoing, warm & charming personality from his grandma Garcia. He never knew a stranger and neither did she. Guy & his Grandma were always ready for fun. He wanted to enjoy life and live it to the fullest. As a child, he played little league baseball & football. His love of sports never stopped. During the early 2000’s, he briefly played semi-pro football with the Grizzlies and was on a full-contact flag football team at the time of his death. He always dreamed of a career in baseball or football, but, unfortunately, his talent could not carry him that far. He married Carrie Lee Davis October 27, 2007. On October 13, 2010, they joyously welcomed their son Colton William Doertenbach Garcia into the world. Colton was Guy’s greatest joy. They loved each other very much and spent many happy times together. Guy passed away suddenly & unexpectedly on December 17, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father Leroy Garcia, grandparents Filemon & Bernice Garcia and William & Elizabeth Doertenbach and his aunt & Godmother, Juanita Garcia. Guy will be very sadly missed by his wife Carrie, son Colton, mother and step-father Joy & Jim Atencio, sister Angela (Danny) Flores and brother Anthony, niece Erika & nephew Eric Flores. His special cousin, Beth Griswold, who was like a sister to him, is also aching with his loss. He will also be missed by his wife’s family; her mother & step-father Tina & Mark Myers, her father Ron Davis, her sister Janette (Doug) Prokop, brothers Bill Davis and Vincent Myers, niece and nephews, Noah and Simon Prokop, and Oriana Davis, along with many Godchildren. He also leaves numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Memorial Service will be held January 4, 2014 at 11:00am at Brentwood United Methodist Church, 1899 S. Irving St., Denver 80219. This will be followed by a luncheon at the church to celebrate Guy’s life. All of us who knew & loved Guy have lost a shining star in our lives. His spirit will burn on in the stars, our hearts and with our loving God. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to an account that has been established for the benefit of Colton. Checks can be made out to Raymond James Financial Services and mailed to 104 Osterville Dr., Holly Springs, NC 27540. Please include “Colton Garcia” in the memo field of the check.
