William “Bill” Allen Sutherland, 70, widower of Geraldine Corman Sutherland, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022. A native of Versailles, he was born on August 18, 1952 to the late William and Anna Mae Hellard Sutherland. He was a Phlebotomist with Lab Corp. Bill loved horses, windchimes, and drinking coffee. He enjoyed writing poems and stories. He was very close with his sisters and loved being with his family. He is survived by his daughter, Christy Tackett, Frankfort; his sons, Brad (Michelle) Sutherland, Frankfort, and Chris Sutherland, Frankfort; his sisters, Laura Jane Sutherland, Frankfort, and Joyce (Calvin) Cooper, Frankfort; his grandchildren, Morgan, Wesley, Devin, Mason, Erin, Kandis, and Abigail; as well as his 10 great grandchildren with one on the way. In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter in law, Regina Sutherland; his brothers, Richard Sutherland, and J.B. Sutherland; and his grandson, Jared Allen Sutherland. Private Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd is in charge of arrangements.
