Joyce Trent Salley

Blountville - Joyce Trent Salley, 67, of Blountville, went to be with her mother in heaven on Monday, March 5, 2018 at her home following an extended illness. She was born in Hawkins County and graduated from Church Hill High School. Joyce had resided the majority of her life in Sullivan County. Following graduation, she worked at Kingsport Times-News and the Kingsport Press. Mrs. Salley worked for the Sullivan County Sherriff's Department for over 12 years. She was also co-owner of Affordable Bail Bonds in the First, Second, and Third Judicial Districts. She was a motorcycle enthusiast who loved Harley-Davison's. She loved to spend time at the beach. Joyce always put others first and was truly a genuine person. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Williams Trent, and a brother, Johnny Trent. Joyce Salley is survived by her loving husband, Steve Salley; her children, Barbara Marie Quillen and husband, Charlie, Joshua E. Salley, Jonathan M. Salley and Hannah, and "Casey Ryback Salley"; her grandchildren, Caleb Quillen, Callie Quillen, and Rylan Salley; her brothers, Edward Trent and wife, Faye, Billy Jack Trent, and David Trent and wife, Ann; special nephews, Michael Trent and Eddie (Bubby) Trent; special caretakers, Ashley Adams, Donna Davidson, and Amanda Kilgore. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Sharelife Room at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Alan Buckles, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests to please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association, Northeast Tennessee Office at 2020 Meadowview Parkway, Suite 100, Kingsport, TN 37660.
