Ron Blair, age 73, of Mt. Carmel, formerly of Paintsville, KY, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country while stationed in Germany. He was a well-known engineer and was a current employee of BAE Systems in Kingsport. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, firearms and golf. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He will be greatly missed by his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Lindsey Blair; brother, Wendell Blair; and brother-in-law, Roby Fairchild. He is survived by loving wife, Phyllis Blair; son, Ted Blair; grandson, Tyler Blair; mother, Viola Blair; several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Kingsport with American Legion Hammond Post #3/265 performing military rites. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.cartertrent.com.
