Donald Ray Arington

Donald Ray Arington, 90, passed away on May 20, 2023 in Louisville, Kentucky. Donald was born is Shelbyville, Kentucky on May 9, 1933 to the late Guthrie Arington and El Nora Black Hawkins. Donald was the owner of Blue Bonnet Grocery and Restaraunt in Shelbyville, Kentucky, and he also worked for the Frankfort Candy Company. Donald won the blue ribbon for his delicious jam cake, among other specialty foods, he was the best baker, and could cook anything. Donald was a member of the Civitan club of Frankfort, volunteered with the Steward Home, Special Olympics, and would always help anyone in need. Donnie is survived by, two brothers, Jim (Jennifer) Arington of Louisville, Tom (Bettye) Arington of Cinncinati. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Robert L. Arington. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30,2023, at Clark Legacy Center in Frankfort, beginning at 12p until time of service. The funeral service will take place at 2p in the chapel at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jeff Arington officiating. Burial will follow the graveside service in the chapel.
