Thomas Gazo

Thomas J. Gazo, 67, of Centennial, Colorado passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 after a courageous battle with mesothelioma. Tom was born in Landford, Pennsylvania on June 11, 1947 and raised in Manville, New Jersey. He worked for 20 years at Johns Manville Corporation while employed in various information technology positions. Later he worked as a real estate agent for Remax Southeast for 10 years, retiring in 2011 to spend time with his wife. Tom loved the outdoors, camping, rollerblading and, especially, bicycling. One of his proudest accomplishments was completing the 2012 Bike MS Colorado ride shortly before his illness was diagnosed. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends who loved him dearly. Surviving Tom are his wife, Vallarie Erickson; mother Helen; brother Rick; daughter Brandy Gazo, son-in- law Matt Cohen, 2 grandchildren, a niece and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his father John J. Gazo and son Tommy. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held Saturday, October 4 at 11:00 A.M. at the Platte River Bar and Grill at 5995 South Santa Fe Drive, Littleton, Colorado 80120. Chaplain Tom Simbo will officiate at the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that charitable donations be made in Tom’s name to either The Denver Hospice, 501 S.
