Samuel “Colton” Hering, 13, passed away on Thursday October 6, 2023. The son of Michael and Nahtanha Hering of Frankfort, KY. Colton was born on November 4, 2009 in Lexington, Kentucky. He was an eighth grade student at Elkhorn Middle School. Colton was very active in band for school and played percussion. Colton was also learning to play guitar as music was a passion of his. In addition to his parents, those left to cherish Colton's memory includes, brothers; Hayden, Tristan, Jonah and Liam Hering; maternal grandparents, Joyce Edwards (step grandfather Richard Jacobs) of Lawrenceburg, Donald Edwards of Harrodsburg; paternal grandparents, Lawrence (Amanda) Hering of Florida, Ruth (Steve) McGrew of Virginia; uncles; Joseph and Jeremiah Edwards; aunt Tracey Hering (Shawn Forney) and cousin Piper Forney. Pallbears: Hayden Hering, Tristan Hering, Robert Medley, Johnny Medley, Tabitha Wainscott, Eric Ashmore A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Clark Legacy Center in Frankfort. Visitation will begin prior to the service from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00pm. A graveside service will be held at Frankfort Cemetery after the service.
