Harry Cunningham III, 80, husband of Phyllis Cunningham, passed away on April 23, 2024 in Lexington. Harry was born in Versailles, Kentucky on December 2, 1943 to the late Harry Cunningham II and Christine Bailey Cunningham. Harry served in the United States Army under the 101st Airborne Division and went on to work as a draftsman for many years. Harry was known to be an avid UK basketball fan and loved to travel and go deer hunting whenever he could. Harry was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, Phyllis, Harry is survived by his three sons, Michael (Belinda) Brent Cunningham, Harry Cunningham IV, and Billy Cunningham; his sister Phyllis Carl; seven grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by one grandchild, Jeremy Cunningham. A funeral service will be held for Harry Cunningham III on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 1pm at Clark Legacy Center- Versailles Rd., Frankfort. Visitation will be from 11am till the time of service at the funeral home. Entombment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Mr. Harry Cunningham III to the research for spinal cord injuries.
