LEXINGTON- Larry Wayne Pennington, 78, husband of Joanne Pennington, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at the Hospice Care Center. He was born in Franklin, Kentucky to the late Lawrence and Maxine Mundy Pennington on March 28, 1941. Mr. Pennington was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. and retired from Yellow Freight and McVey Trucking companies. After retirement, he enjoyed working at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Mr. Pennington was a member of the Corvette Club and an avid animal lover. He will be missed by his 14 feral cats and his dog, Ralph. In addition to his wife of 16 years, he is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Todd) Beatty, NC, Carolwayne Tavener, SC and Cathie (Kevin) Yates, NC; brothers, Gene (Karen) Doyle, Lexington and David (Nancy) Doyle, Flemingsburg; sister, Henrietta (Jessie) Hickerson, Flemingsburg; grandchildren, Cathryn, Haley, Aspyn and Bryce; step children, Tina (Billy) Martin, Georgetown, David (Teresa) Daly, Versailles, Aimee (Chris) Lamb, Georgetown and Bobby (Rana) Wyson, Lexington; step grandchildren, Tiffany, Alyssa, Evan, Henry and Ryan; and one great grandson, Corbin. Memorial Service with Military honors will be held at 11AM, Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
