Pauline Frost Barker
January 9th, 1924 - November 27th, 2016
Pauline Frost Barker, 92, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning on November 27, 2016 at Wexford House following a lengthy illness. She was born in Hawkins County and had lived the majority of her life in Kingsport. She was a homemaker who devoted her time to being a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Barker faithfully attended Oak Drive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy "Jack" Barker who was known as the "Singing Truck Driver"; her parents, Charlie and Lula Williams Frost; her son, Jerry Barker, Sr.; infant daughter, Delores Barker; sisters, Minnie Smith and Thelma Kelly; a brother, Charles Frost; her special friend, Rosie Carrico. Pauline Barker is survived by her daughter, Cathy Johnston and husband, Rick; a son, Jackie Barker and wife, Charlotte; daughter-in-law, Sue Barker; 8 grandchildren, Jerry Barker, Jr. and wife, Mika, Melinda Barker and husband, David Mutchmore, Randy Austin, Sr. and wife, Pam, Cynthia Barker, Chad Austin & wife, Chanda, Jennifer Mosley & husband Billy, Michael Barker and wife, Julie, and Jeremy Johnston; 12 great grandchildren and a great-great grandson; her dear friend and neighbor, Ethel Schill; along with several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday (November 29, 2016) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday (November 29, 2016) at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Eddie Whitley, officiating. Music will be provided by the church. A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday (November 30, 2016) at 1 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park with her grandsons and great grandsons serving as pallbearers. Family and friends attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Barker family.
