Millicent Bunn McAtee
February 6th, 1933 - April 26th, 2020
Millicent Bunn McAtee, wife of William G. McAtee died peacefully on April 26, 2020. She was born on February 6, 1933 to the late Neal and Velma Bunn in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Millye graduated from the Jonesboro High School in 1950 where she was a cheerleader. She attended Southwestern at Memphis (currently Rhodes College) graduating in 1954 with a B.A . in economics. Millye and Bill were married on June 6, 1956. They lived in Louisville, Kentucky when Bill was in seminary, then in Mississippi in the early 1960s where Bill served two pastorates and where they began their family. After five years in Richmond, Virginia, Bill served on a board of the Presbyterian Church. They put down roots in Lexington, Kentucky in 1971 where he was on staff of the Presbytery of Transylvania until retirement in 1997. Before and after Millye became a mother and homemaker she worked at various times in legal firms as a secretary and office manager. She also was involved as a trainer in human relations and group process workshops and laboratories in the 1970s and 1980s. Her sister, Jacqueline Bunn Boehler and her brother, Ronald Freeze Bunn, preceded her in death. In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Walter Bunn (Donna Cornett) McAtee of Lexington, KY; William Neal (Amy) McAtee of Memphis, TN; and grandchildren, Abigail Elizabeth (Cort) Gatliff, Margaret Grace McAtee, and William Neal McAtee, Jr. Millye was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Lexington. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials: Meals-on-Wheels (2nd Presbyterian), Bluegrass Hospice Care, or charity of your choice.
