Charles Roger Shellenberger
February 3rd, 1933 - July 19th, 2020
Charles R. Shellenberger, 87, husband of Shirley Hall Shellenberger, passed away, Sunday, July 19, 2020. A golden glove boxer during his high school career, Charles enlisted in the Navy directly after graduation. At the completion of his military commitments, Charles went to work for Square D Corporation until his retirement. He was a very active man who enjoyed bicycle riding, canoeing, and rock climbing. He also enjoyed UK football, Bluegrass music and doing yard work. Charles was a member of the Buford Masonic Lodge in Midway. In addition to his wife, Shirley, Charles is survived by a daughter, Sona Shellenberger Jewell (Merel Bowman), Versailles; sisters, Martha (Ron) Reed, Versailles and Evelyn Shellenberger, NC; six grandchildren, Erin (Floyd) Christofoli, Kelly (Richard) Karcher, Morgan Shellenberger, Christopher Jewell, Michael (Christina) Jewell and Jacob Shellenberger and six great grandchildren, Colin, Abby, Kaitlin, Ellie, Aydden and Jacob. He is preceded in death by his father, George Shellenberger, step-mother Lola Moody Shellenberger, and his son, Karl Aaron Shellenberger. Services will be private.
