Aladen Griffin

Aladen “AJ” Griffin was born in Long Beach, CA on September 29, 1974, to Robert and Cynthia Griffin. He was the first of four children. Aladen accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at eleven years old and attended New Hope Baptist Church. Aladen attended Cubberly Elementary School and Marshall Middle School. He graduated from George Washington High School in Denver, Colorado. He also attended Long Beach City College for creative writing. Aladen was always helpful to others. He despised injustice. Whenever he saw someone hurt, he tried to correct the situation. Aladen’s first job was at the Comedy Club in Long Beach when he was 14 years old. He was a hard worker. His hobbies were collecting books, music, movies, shoes, and video games. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 25, 2018, in Denver, Colorado. Aladen was preceded in death by his father Robert “The Popper”, Albert Griffin Jr., his uncles Thomas Lee Griffin and Michael Ferre Thompson, and his aunt Pamela Ann Thompson. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother Cynthia Griffin, his daughter Cyanna Marie Griffin, his brother Robert Griffin III of Bellflower, CA, two uncles Gregory Griffin, Elder Eugene Griffin both of Long Beach, CA, three aunts Faye Favors of Inglewood, CA, Debra Griffin of Abondale, AZ, Loninita Moseby of North Carolina, three sisters Muriah Olumeko (Terry) of De Soto, TX, Ijeoma Okwelogo of Fresno, CA, Ndidiomaka Okwelogu of Oakland CA. Special mention to his friend of 10 years, Kimberly Morinkos of Alhambra, CA, Dominic Sales of Denver, CO, Lathan Hudson of San Bernadino, CA, Will Lathum Portland, OR. Cousins Larry and George Love, Verna Love, Greg, Leslie, and Miriam Brewer all of Denver, CO and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, family and friends.
