Shirley Joan Leinbach

Shirley Joan Ater Leinbach, age 84, of Church Hill, TN went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2015 at her home. Shirley was born to the late Earl F. Ater and Margaret Rohr Ater on May 31, 1931. She was married to Glenn E. Leinbach on July 12, 1949 in Norfolk, VA. They were married for 66 years. Shirley Leinbach graduated from Monmouth High School and continued on to graduate from Black Hawk College in Moline, IL. She enjoyed working at the Church Hill Community Clothes Closet for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Church Hill and participated in Baptist Women. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Her passion for life and love for her family was felt by all and will be missed. In addition to Shirley's parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna and brother Bob who's children were cherished by their Aunt Shirley. Shirley Leinbach is survived by her husband Glenn Leinbach,Sr, son Glenn Leinbach Jr. and wife Patti, daughter Sheryl Johnson and husband Terry Johnson, son Jim Leinbach and wife Teri, daughter Sheila Leinbach and her sister Pat Davis of Greeneville, SC. As well as 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice staff Heather Hayes, Lisa Sproles, Cathy Katras, Amy Edwards, and Lois Kirkus. Visitation will be held at Carter Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill on December 17th from 5 to 7 pm with the funeral to begin at 7 pm.
