Lexington, KY Karen S. Davis, 61, passed away September 30, 2016. She is survived by her husband Wilson David Slaughter; brother Gene (Lisa) Davis; father Edward Doc Davis; nieces Amanda Davis and Tracie Goins; nephews Joseph Davis, Jacob Hunter Page, Evan Slaughter, Tanner McDaniel and Jacob McDaniel; great niece Kaylynn Davis and great nephews Beau Goins, Brian Goins, Ayden Osborne, Peyton Osborne and Hunter Davis. She is preceded in death by her mother Naomi (Porter) Davis. Karen earned her Bachelors in Education and Masters in Library Science at the University of Kentucky. She was the manager of the Northside branch of the Lexington Public Library. Many family, friends and co-workers looked to Karen for advice and mentoring. In her youth, her grandmother instilled in her the love of knitting, which she did throughout her life. She was also a voracious reader. Karens favorite times were spent at Litchfield Beach in South Carolina, or in any Christmas season. Movies were a delight to her, especially anything with Sponge Bob, or with her favorite Looney Toons characters. She also loved the time she spent with her nieces and nephews. In addition to David, the loves of her life were her 2 pugs Mollie and Daphne. Funeral Information There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends from 6-8 PM, Thursday, October 6, 2016, with a Time of Sharing at 6:30 PM, at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing.
