Peggy Wright Vaughn
October 31st, 1939 - July 6th, 2018
Peggy Wright Vaughn, 78, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord Friday, July 6, 2018. Peggy was born and spent much of her life in Kingsport. A 1957 graduate of Ketron High School, Peggy ultimately attended a nursing program and spent over 40 years extending her care of others through her profession. Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She dedicated her life encouraging and supporting others. She especially loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother Harold Wright, sister-in-law Clara Faye Wright; her parents, Arthur Preston and Mary Elizabeth Montgomery Wright; and her brother, Sheriff Bill W. Wright. Peggy is survived by her husband of 48 years, Lewis; two brothers, Preston J. Wright and wife, Frieda, and Les Wright and wife, Kim Renee; her children, Renee Galasso Hall, Deena Khalaf, Michael Vaughn; nieces, Teri Wright and Tanya Hart; nephews, Bill Wright, and Billy P. Wright; Aunt Sen. Ruth Montgomery; her very special grandchildren, Matt, Chase, & Nick Caldwell, Virginia & Angelina Galasso, Ryan Hall, and Finley & Carter Vaughn; and one great-grandson, Hayden. The family will receive friends Monday (July 9, 2018) from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport, and a funeral service will follow in the chapel. Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday (July 10, 2018) at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 p.m. to go in procession. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome for a scholarship to be directed toward local nursing students.
